Texture Placement & Skewing

I am wondering if anyone else has a problem like this where if I place images of variable sizes on one PC, they look completely different and skewed on another PC. I looked it up online and it said only textures that are sized of power 2 (256 by 256) are unaffected. 

Is there anyway to avoid this problem without having to always make the size of the texture a power of two?

Have you tried the new version at https://github.com/SteveDunn/Gleed2D/wiki?

The code has changed quite a bit and there's some new features such as shadows and lights.

It's also now compatible with Windows Phone 7.x
